University of Michigan Award Named after Michigan From The Heart Cofounders
by John Suchon

Former Michigan Head Football Coach Lloyd Carr hosted the Michigan Student Athletic Academic Awards on March 28th at the Student Union where the inaugural award honoring Michigan From The Heart participation by a student athlete was presented to Mark Moundros (football). The award was named "The Ed and Leann Boullion Mott Warrior Award" in honor of the Michigan From The Heart cofounders who along with Tom Bloom started the organization 20 years ago. Dick Lundy and I were able to attend the event and witness Curt Schuster, the Athletic Coordinator of Michigan From The Heart, present the award to Mark. In addition John McColgan (football) and Brittany Poston (rowing) were recognized for their tireless contributions as well. It gives us all time to stop and appreciate the effort of all our student-athletes who so generously give their time to our program. In addition we recognize and appreciate all the great staff at Mott Children's Hospital and thank the Michigan Athletic Department; in particular Athletic Director Dave Brandon , MPACT Director Shari Acho, Whitney Tarver and all the coaches and administration whom without their help we could not accomplish what we do.
